The work of Laura Voskian (1988, Argentina) stands out for its marked multidisciplinary character. Her training covers, through different institutions in Argentina and Spain, the field of visual arts, scenography, photography and printed graphics. This derives in her work methodology, where she brings together characteristics of visual and spatial research in her creative development as well as in her documentation. In her artistic practice she integrates photography, video, drawing, sculpture and the use of natural elements. She shows a deep attraction to the contemplative, and her method seems an attempt to treasure the minimum through the accumulation of notes about the strange and the beautiful, about the transcendence of the inconsequential.
Her first solo exhibition, “Some dust in the sun, some mud when it rains” was presented at Galería Cero in Madrid. She has also been chosen as a finalist for the portfolio review in ViPhotoFest’18 (Vitoria), participated in Hybrid Art Fair 2020 (Madrid) and in Fauna Festival 2022 (Buenos Aires). Her last project: ‘At the exact moment, or very close to what is indicated as the end’, has been chosen as a finalist for the portfolio review Full Contact Scan Tarragona 2022 (Tarragona) and Baffest’22 (Barakaldo); also finalist for for the Itaú Visual Arts Award, Google Arts&Culture; in 2022 she is a finalist with an exhibition at the BFoto festival (Barbastro) and for the XIII Photo iila award (Rome). In 2023, in the collective exhibition Todo verdor perecerá (Buenos Aires), outside Lo Pardal, La finestra induïda in the Embarrat Festival (Agramunt), is invited for the 3rd edition of El Temporal (Santander) and in 2024 for the 5th edition of Luminic festival (Sant Cugat del Vallès) where she exhibits a dialogue between installations in what is the second stage of this project.
